Improvement Consultant – Physician Services - Maryland
HQI is a health quality consulting company that serves as the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Maryland and Virginia. In addition, we are the Practice Transformation Network (PTN) for a mid-Atlantic region, including Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington D.C., the only QIN-QIO in the nation to hold both contracts.” Since 1984, we have been leading the way to better healthcare by working with providers, patients and partners to improve health quality across the region. Through the PTN, we help independent practices to maximize efficiencies, manage population health and improve care coordination. We are currently seeking an Improvement Consultant who will provide quality coaching to HQI team members and physician practices enrolled in our Practice Transformation Network. In this role, you will review clinical quality data, compare data to benchmarks, provide feedback on performance, and implement interventions for improvement. This position will drive network performance to meet goals and identify interventions that lead to success. You will apply the latest quality improvement tools and techniques based on evidence-based interventions. You will be part of the region’s most experienced and respected healthcare quality improvement organization.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently and be part of cross-functional teams, develop strong consultative relationships, manage multiple priorities, interpret data, and design and implement plans of action using improvement tools and evidence-based interventions (i.e., PDSA, LEAN, etc.). Familiarity with physician practices, clinical quality reporting, quality improvement strategies, and electronic health records highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field or related area. Master’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in healthcare administration, public health or quality improvement; CPHQ or equivalent credential desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience conducting training and writing reports. Ability to travel between healthcare provider locations within the state and/or region.
