Physician Practice Coordinator – Obesity Reduction - Maryland/Virginia

Health Quality Innovators is a health quality consulting company that serves as the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Maryland and Virginia. In addition, we are the Practice Transformation Network (PTN) for a mid-Atlantic region, including Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington D.C., the only QIN-QIO in the nation to hold both contracts.” Since 1984, we have been leading the way to better healthcare by working with providers, patients and partners to improve health quality across the region. We are seeking a Physician Practice Coordinator to work with physician practices in one of the nation’s largest healthcare quality improvement programs. In this role, you will provide quality coaching to healthcare providers to implement intensive behavioral therapy (IBT) for obesity. You will assist practices in developing a workflow to incorporate effective IBT through team-based care, train practices in evidence-based methods for obesity counseling, collect and monitor data through the EHR, and institute improvement plans that result in the reduction of obesity rates in the patient population.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently and be part of cross-functional teams, develop strong consultative relationships, manage multiple priorities, and implement improvement plans of action. Highly developed communication skills, experience with optimization of an EHR system, campaigns to engage patients in their care, and physician practice workflow redesign is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field or related area. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an ambulatory health care setting, physician practice office preferred. Experience with quality improvement, quality data reporting, and EHRs desirable. Ability to travel between healthcare provider locations within the state and/or region.
