Press Release: Netting Joins HQI Board of Directors
Health Quality Innovators (HQI) announces the election of F. Ellen Netting, Ph.D., to its Board of Directors. HQI serves as the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization for Maryland and Virginia and a Practice Transformation Network assisting practices in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia.
“After retiring from a successful academic career, Dr. Netting continues to give back to the community. An active member of HQI’s Patient and Family Advisory Council, she brings a patient-focused perspective to the board,” said Donald A. Glozer, MHA, FACHE, HQI’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Netting, of Richmond, joined the Board in 2018. Now retired, she served as a professor of social work at Virginia Commonwealth University and Arizona State University. She is a fellow of The Gerontological Society of America and was elected to the National Academies of Practice as a Distinguished Scholar of Social Work. Before earning her Ph.D., Dr. Netting led a county office on aging and an Area Agency on Aging in Tennessee. Dr. Netting earned a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology from Duke University.
