RVA Community Cares Spotlight – Commonwealth Catholic Charities Has Served Virginia Since 1923
This month’s RVA Community Cares Spotlight shines on Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC), which offers services to people in the Richmond area for health-related social needs including housing, finances, and food assistance. CCC is a nonprofit organization that has been helping Virginians since 1923. Some of their services include helping homeless people to receive clothing, toiletries, resources for mental health, employment, assistance obtaining identification cards, referrals to a cold weather shelter, and in some cases, housing. The best way to contact CCC is by calling the Richmond help line at 804-285-5986 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How They Help
An appointment coordinator will work with those seeking assistance to schedule a meeting based on their needs. For financial assistance, counselors will evaluate a person’s specific barriers and help develop sustainable budgets to meet their goals regarding personal finance management, credit counseling, rental counseling, debit counseling, and pre-purchase counseling for buying a home. Housing referral assistance appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 511 West Grace Street, Richmond, VA. The food pantry is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. An identification card is required to receive assistance, and recipients may only receive food once every 30 days up to four times a year.« Return to the News
