Livanta to Lead Medicare Beneficiary Appeals in Maryland & Virginia

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced changes to the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organization (BFCC QIO) contracts. Effective June 8, 2019, Livanta will lead the BFCC QIO contract in Maryland and Virginia; this role was previously held by KEPRO.

Please note: Health Quality Innovators (HQI) continues to serve as the Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Maryland and Virginia.

Providers are asked to take the following steps:

  1. Distribute the Livanta Provider Bulletin to mailroom staff, medical records staff, care transitions staff, quality staff and any other critical personnel in your facility to ensure a smooth transition.
  2. Please remove all references to KEPRO in your publications by June 8, 2019.
  3. Beginning with notices issued on June 8, 2019, update all Medicare Beneficiary Notices with Livanta’s Helpline information: 1-888-396-4646, TTY 1-888-985-2660
