Press Release: Clement Joins the HQI Board of Directors
Health Quality Innovators (HQI) announces the election of Jan P. Clement, Ph.D. to its Board of Directors. HQI serves as the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization for Maryland and Virginia and a Practice Transformation Network assisting practices in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia.
“Through her work at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Clement is committed to preparing the next generation of health care leaders to tackle new challenges. Her perspective on health services research and finance is a great addition to our board,” said Donald A. Glozer, MHA, FACHE, HQI’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Clement, of Richmond, joined the Board in 2018. She has nearly 40 years of experience in higher education with a focus on health care administration, policy research, and finance. Currently, she serves as professor and director of the Health Services Organization and Research Ph.D. Program for the Department of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. Previously, Dr. Clement served as a faculty member at the University of Texas in Austin, the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and the University of Michigan. She earned a Ph.D. from UNC’s Department of Health Policy and Administration with a specialization in Business Finance, an M.S. in Public Health from the University of Missouri and a B.S. in Sociology from Cornell College.
