Press Release: Gregg R. Laiben, M.D. Joins the HQI Board of Directors
Health Quality Innovators (HQI) announces the election of Gregg R. Laiben, M.D. from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) to its Board of Directors. HQI serves as the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization for Kansas, Missouri, South Carolina and Virginia. Operating under the Health Quality Innovation Network (HQIN), HQI and its local partners are funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to help thousands of nursing homes, hospitals and physician practices improve health care.
“Dr. Laiben is an active and respected leader in the Missouri health care community. His executive leadership roles and past experience maintaining an active internal medicine practice in Kansas City for 12 years makes him a key addition to our board,” said Donald A. Glozer, MHA, FACHE, HQI’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
As Vice President of Employer Health Solutions at Blue KC, Dr. Laiben has clinical oversight of the A Healthier You™ program. Previously, he was the Medical Director for Primaris, the former QIO for Missouri. Dr. Laibenearned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Missouri Kansas City and his Doctorate Degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine.
HQI’s 35-plus years of experience as a CMS quality contractor in Virginia has led to an expanded role that benefits Medicare beneficiaries in other states, including Kansas, Missouri and South Carolina.
