Press Release: Jerry Slaughter Joins the HQI Board of Directors
Health Quality Innovators (HQI) announces the election Jerry Slaughter from the Kansas Medical Society to its Board of Directors. HQI serves as the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization for Kansas, Missouri, South Carolina and Virginia. Operating under the Health Quality Innovation Network (HQIN), HQI and its local partners are funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to help thousands of nursing homes, hospitals and physician practices improve health care.
“After a successful career as executive director at the Kansas Medical Society, Jerry continues to serve his community and the people of Kansas. His more than 45 years of experience is an invaluable addition to our board and we welcome his perspectives on the unique health care needs facing Kansans,” said Donald A. Glozer, MHA, FACHE, HQI’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Slaughter joined the Kansas Medical Society (KMS) in 1973 and two years later became the organization’s executive director, a position he held until 2017. He continues to serve KMS as a senior executive advisor on policy, government affairs and operations. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas.
HQI’s 35-plus years of experience as a CMS quality contractor in Virginia has led to an expanded role that benefits Medicare beneficiaries in other states, including Kansas, Missouri and South Carolina. Since 1984, HQI has been offering expertise in quality improvement, practice transformation, provider payment programs and electronic health record optimization.
